Hi guys, welcome to Drinks Tube I'm Danielleand today I have for you one of my favourite
recipes, almond milk. It's a great dairy freealternative to regular milk and it's perfect
if you're intolerant, allergic or if you'revegan. This recipe is super easy to make it
just takes a little bit of prep work. It'sa great alternative to regular milk you can
use it with absolutely everything, your porridge, your cereal, your coffee, your tea, anything.
I'm making almond milk today which is definitelythe most popular but other nut milks are great
and you can make them with just about anyother nut and I'm gonna' give you some wicked
tips on those as well. Right, so let's getstarted. So I have here one cup of almonds,
this is about two hundred grams, really reallyimportant, you need to soak the almonds in
water for about eight to twelve hours. I'vejust left them over night. Ok, so after you've
soaked your almonds you wanna' make sure thatyou rinse them. It's really really important.
I know you can find some recipes on the internetthat tell you that you need to peel every
almond, I suggest you just chuck them in theblender and we're just gonna strain up the
skin anyhow so don't worry about that, it'sjust gonna' save a lot of time and effort.
Ok great, so the next thing that we're goingto chuck into the blender is our filtered
water. Super super easy, we're just gonnause the exact same cup that we used to measure
out the almonds, and we're just gonna' timesthat by four. There we go, we have four cups,
perfect. Right, so that's all we need forthe almond milk. Now if you wanna add a little
extra natural sweetness you can add somethinglike pitted dates, agave syrup, or honey which
I prefer so I'm going to use about two teaspoonsof all natural raw honey. Great, so I'm choosing
honey because I really like the taste of honeyI prefer it and also honey and almond has
a really really great combination. Now, ifyou're vegan you're gonna wanna stay away
from the honey so I would add either the pitteddates or the agave syrup. That's all that
goes into our super easy almond milk recipe, let's just put on the lid and blitz it up
for a couple minutes. Ok great, I think that'sabout finished so what we're going to do is
we'll take this off and then we're going topour it over a muslin cloth, over the top
of a bowl you want to make sure. You couldalso use a sieve if you have that at home.
So you may wanna' do this bit by bit, we'lljust pour it and then we're gonna squeeze
it through and then try it again. So you justneed to squeeze it through and it's super
super easy, you can see the cloth is justgathering all of the pulp from the almonds
and the skins. Now we're just gonna' squeezethrough the rest. So we'll just pour that
through here, gather this together and thengive it a good squeeze. And you wanna' make
sure that you squeeze it really really hard, you wanna gather all of the milk and then
you are left with all this amazing almondpulp. Now, you wanna' make sure you do not
chuck this away because you can make a reallyreally nice almond flour out of this. All
you do is, you dry it out and then you blitzit up and it's perfect for baking. There is
our almond milk right there. The next thingthat we're going to do is pour it into our
glass bottles. We can keep it in the fridgefor about three to four days. Now, one important
point I want to mention is that the almondmilk will naturally seperate over time so
you wanna' make sure that you give it a goodshake every time you serve it. It's ok to
spill a bit don't worry about it, or a lot.Ok perfect, it's all set. There you guys have
it our super easy almond milk recipe. Thismethod works for many other nuts, they just
have different soaking times. For example, soak macadamia nut, pine nut, peanut and hazelnut
for eight hours. Pecan's four to six hours, soak walnuts for four hours, cashew nuts,
two hours and pistachio and brazil nut youdon't need to soak. Ok, so the last thing
that we need to do of course is give it ataste. Oh, I'm so excited for this one. Oh
my gosh it's amazing, such a creamy creamyflavour, the honey you can taste the sweetness
of the honey it's absolutely fantastic. Idon't know why you would ever wanna' drink
normal milk ever again. This is absolutelyamazing guys, you need to try it at home.
